  • Affordable Housing Lenders on the rules and regulations of multifamily and healthcare financing to assist with professional development of their underwriters, processors, originators and staff.
  • Affordable Housing and Healthcare Property Managers on environmental, engineering, and green programs, to include Operations and Maintenance (O&M) Programs for hazardous materials, mold/moisture, green construction, and integrated pest management.
  • Trade organizations to deliver information about the changing affordable housing landscape and professional opportunities within the greening and preservation of housing.

We are pleased to offer customized training to our Clients, focusing on the environmental, engineering, architectural, construction cost, and energy efficiency issues revolving around housing and healthcare. Training can be arranged to fit your schedule, can be provided in person or web-based, and upon completion will be documented with training certificates. Rob Hazelton, LEED AP
Rob Hazelton is the President and Founder of Dominion Due Diligence Group (D3G) and has accumulated more than 19 years of real-estate due diligence inspection experience, focusing primarily on environmental issues, building code compliance, construction engineering, cost estimation, and green buildings. Rob has both construction experience and training in building engineering and design practices pertaining to mechanical, electrical, structural, and civil concerns. As the President of D3G, Mr. Hazelton’s duties include supervision of field projects, client contact, management of client accounts, and technical review. He was active in the review of the HUD Multifamily Accelerated Processing (MAP) and LEAN Section 232 processing guidelines, and has participated as a speaker in numerous mortgage lender and affordable housing conferences.

Mike Ferguson, PE
Mike Ferguson is a licensed Professional Engineer and the Director of Engineering Services for D3G. Mike joined D3G in August 2003 and has 15 years of extensive experience in building design and construction. Mike received an undergraduate Bachelors of Engineering Degree from Ryerson University (Toronto, ON) in Civil Engineering with a focus on structural engineering, a Masters of Engineering from the University of Toronto in project engineering, and a Masters of Business Administration from Averett University. Mike’s duties as Director of Engineering Services and as a Professional Engineer include training and providing technical support to the staff of construction inspectors/needs assessors. Additional duties include conducting, coordinating, and reviewing property condition reports for properties throughout the United States for specific lending protocols, HUD, Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac, and State Housing Finance Authorities. As the Director of Engineering Services, Mike is responsible for project scheduling, staff management, quality control/quality assurance, client liaison services, and comprehensive report writing.

Staige Miller, EP
Staige Miller is the Director of Environmental Services and an Environmental Professional for D3G. Staige joined D3G in May 2000 and she has 12 years of extensive training and experience with regards to evaluating environmental surface and subsurface conditions. She received an undergraduate Bachelors of Science Degree from Virginia Tech in Environmental Policy, Planning, and Political Science as well as a Masters of Public Administration from Virginia Commonwealth University. Staige’s duties as Director of Environmental Services and as an Environmental Professional include coordinating, conducting, staffing and reviewing Phase I/II Environmental Site Assessments throughout the United States as well as conducting, coordinating and reviewing comprehensive lead-based paint and asbestos-containing material investigations. Ms. Miller has additionally performed numerous Vapor Encroachment Condition (VEC) studies, HUD 8-Step Processes, STC calculations and HUD noise assessments. As the Director of Environmental Services, Staige is responsible for project scheduling, staff management, quality control/quality assurance, client liaison services, and comprehensive report writing.

Gary Treaster, BPI-MF
Mr. Treaster has 30+ years of experience with all phases of commercial, industrial, and residential construction and design projects. Mr. Treaster has Building Performance experience as a contractor and Indoor Environmental Consultant. During his employment with Energy Conservation Inc., Gary was responsible for inspecting structures with Sick Building Syndrome, defining solutions and implementing corrective measures. Mr. Treaster has experience as a National Home Energy Rater Systems (HERS) Rating Trainer and as a Virginia Power Energy Efficiency University Trainer in Heating, Ventilation & Air Conditioning Design and Installation. In addition, Mr. Treaster has experience inspecting Multifamily HUD Housing for HUD financing, as well as experience as a project manager performing OAHP Green Physical Condition Assessments and Green Retrofit projects and associated energy audits. In his tenure at D3G, he has helped build our Green/Sustainability department and has received his BPI certifications for both Building Analyst and Multifamily Building Analyst.
