Meet Our Team

Dominion Due Diligence Group (D3G), formerly known as Dominion Environmental Group, Inc. is headquartered in Richmond, Virginia. D3G was established in 1994 by Robert E. Hazelton, and was the original third party due diligence consultant to concentrate on the HUD-FHA-MAP mortgage insurance industry. The firm has since grown into a full-service Environmental and Engineering real estate due diligence company, focusing on the nation's housing and healthcare markets. Our third party reporting is used for HUD-FHA, SFHA, Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac, and conventional financial transactions. The firm has received many accolades including the Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year Award, a listing on the "Virginia Fantastic Fifty," and was a finalist for the Virginia Rising 25. Rob grew up in Southern Vermont and attended Bucknell University in Lewisburg, Pennsylvania. Rob founded D3G in 1994, and his passions include time with family, golf, being outdoors and reading. Personal motto: “Work is a dirty 4-letter word, so it is my job to make it more enjoyable.”

Daniel D. Frink

Dan grew up in Williamsburg, Virginia and graduated from Mary Washington College in 1992. An original team member, Dan has been with D3G since 1996.  In his free time, Dan enjoys spending quality time with his wife and 2 young daughters and rooting for the Redskins. Personal motto: “Solutions, not Problems.”

Jennifer Berger

Jennifer is a native of Richmond, Virginia and graduated with a Bachelor's of Science in Speech Communication from Radford University in 1998. Jennifer enjoys shopping, spending time with her family and being a sun bunny in the warmer months! Jennifer has been with D3G since 2002.

Christy joined D3G in 1996 as the Office Manager and was promoted to Director of Finance in 2006. Christy is married with a son and has lived in Richmond, Virginia her entire life. When she isn’t crunching numbers, Christy enjoys hanging out with her family at “the Rivah”.

Mike Ferguson, P.E.

Mike grew up in Toronto, Ontario, Canada and graduated from Ryerson Polytechnic University with a Bachelor’s of Engineering, University of Toronto with a Masters of Engineering, and Averett University with a M.B.A. Mike enjoys spending time with his wife, two young children, and dogs. When the opportunity arises he enjoys camping with the family or performing DIY projects around the house. Mike has been with D3G since 2003.

Staige Miller, EP

Staige grew up in Front Royal, Virginia and graduated with a Bachelor’s degree from Virginia Tech in 2000 and a Masters degree from Virginia Commonwealth University in 2005. Staige is an outdoor enthusiast and enjoys an array of activities including: kayaking, snowboarding and running as well as any opportunity to travel and explore. Staige has been with D3G since 2000.

Ted Waldron, AIA

Director of AEC Services

Ted Waldron graduated from the architecture program at Platt College in 1981. He is a registered architect with 30 years of experience in the construction industry and has been with D3G since June of 2004. 

Ted is the father of two college bound daughters and has a very patient wife, who allows him to compete in bowling and softball, with an occasional fishing trip mixed in. While he has been involved in the design process for buildings of many types and uses, his greatest accomplishment is the success of those he teaches.

Ian grew up in Lynchburg, Virginia and graduated from Virginia Tech in 2000. Ian enjoys spending time with his wife, young daughter, and yellow lab Jackson. When the opportunity arises, he enjoys an offshore fishing trip, or racing his dirt bike. Ian has been with D3G since 2002.
